Transparent Melt & Pour Soap Base 1 kg – SLES Free
Clear Soap Base for Easy Handmade Soap Making
Our Transparent Melt & Pour Soap Base is a ready-to-use soap base designed for simple, creative and convenient handmade soap production.
Made with coconut-derived ingredients and vegetable glycerin, the base provides a clear appearance that makes it especially suitable for decorative soaps, colorful designs, layered soaps and embedded soap projects.

- Layered soaps
- Decorative soap projects
- Personalized gift soaps
- Transparent artisan soaps
- Creative mold designs
- Seasonal and themed soaps
You can use the base as supplied for a simple clear, fragrance-free soap or customize it according to your preferred design.
Coconut-Derived Cleansing Base
The soap base contains cleansing components derived from coconut-based fatty acids.
Coconut-derived fatty acids are commonly used in soap production because they contribute to cleansing and lather performance.
The finished soap base is designed to provide convenient melt-and-pour processing without requiring the user to formulate the soap from oils and alkali from scratch.
Vegetable Glycerin
Vegetable glycerin is included in the soap base and contributes humectant properties to the finished product.
It also plays an important role in the characteristic processing and sensory properties associated with melt and pour soap bases.
Because glycerin can attract moisture from the surrounding environment, finished melt and pour soaps should be packaged properly, especially in humid conditions.
Appearance and Melting Point
Appearance: Transparent / Clear
Physical Form: Solid Soap Base
Approximate Melting Point: 55–60°C
Weight: 1 kg
For best results, the soap base should be heated gently and should not be boiled or exposed to unnecessarily high temperatures.
Excessive heating can affect transparency, fragrance performance, moisture content and the final appearance of the soap.
What Can You Make With This Soap Base?
Transparent melt and pour soap base can be used for many different handmade soap projects.
Clear Handmade Soaps
Use the base without added color to create simple transparent soaps.
Colored Transparent Soaps
Add compatible soap-safe colorants to produce bright and translucent soap bars.
Layered Soaps
Combine different colors or transparent and opaque soap bases to create layered designs.
Botanical-Style Soaps
Selected dried botanicals and decorative ingredients can be incorporated into the soap design.
Handmade Gift Soaps
Create soaps for:
- Weddings
- Birthdays
- Gift boxes
- Baby showers
- Hotels
- Events
- Seasonal collections
- Handmade product collections
Natural Color Inspiration
Depending on compatibility and intended use, selected natural ingredients can be tested as coloring or decorative ingredients.
Examples may include:
- Activated charcoal
- Beetroot powder
- Cinnamon
- Coffee
- Green tea powder
- Seaweed powder
- Turmeric
- Mint powder
Natural ingredients can behave differently in soap and may change color over time.
Always perform a small compatibility and stability test before producing larger batches.
Fragrance and Essential Oil Ideas
The base can be customized using compatible soap fragrances or suitable essential oils.
Popular fragrance profiles include:
- Peppermint
- Orange
- Lemon
- Rosemary
- Eucalyptus
- Lavender
- Vanilla
- Jasmine
Always follow the recommended usage level of the fragrance or essential oil supplier.
Not every aromatic ingredient behaves the same way in soap, so testing is recommended before larger-scale production.
Decorative Botanicals
Small quantities of suitable dried botanicals may be used to create a natural and decorative appearance.
Possible design ingredients include:
- Lavender
- Calendula
- Mint
- Rosemary
- Dried flower petals
- Selected cosmetic-grade botanicals
Botanical materials should be completely dry before being incorporated into soap.
Excessive amounts of plant material may affect the appearance, stability and user experience of the finished product.
Suitable Soap Molds
Transparent melt and pour soap base can be poured into many different mold styles.
Silicone molds are generally the easiest option because their flexibility allows hardened soaps to be released easily.
You can use:
- Rectangular soap molds
- Individual silicone cavities
- Decorative silicone molds
- Geometric molds
- Flower-shaped molds
- Custom soap molds
Clean packaging containers may sometimes be used experimentally as molds, but materials should always be compatible with warm soap base and suitable for the intended application.
How to Use Transparent Melt and Pour Soap Base
1. Cut the Soap Base
Cut the required amount of soap base into small, evenly sized cubes.
Smaller pieces help the base melt more evenly.
2. Melt Gently
Melt the soap base using a double boiler or microwave at low power in short intervals.
The approximate melting range is 55–60°C.
Stir gently while melting and avoid overheating.
3. Add Fragrance
Once melted, add a compatible soap fragrance or essential oil at the recommended usage level.
Do not rely solely on a fixed number of drops for professional formulation, as fragrance concentration can vary significantly between products.
4. Add Color
Add a suitable soap-safe colorant or pigment gradually.
Mix gently until the desired shade is achieved.
Because the base is transparent, colors may appear brighter and more translucent than in an opaque white base.
5. Add Optional Botanicals
If desired, add a small amount of compatible dried botanicals or decorative ingredients.
6. Pour Into the Mold
Pour the prepared soap mixture carefully into a clean and dry silicone mold.
For layered designs, allow each layer to set sufficiently before adding the next one.
7. Allow to Harden
Leave the soap at room temperature until completely solid.
Depending on the size of the mold and ambient conditions, this generally takes approximately 1–3 hours.
8. Remove From the Mold
Once fully hardened, gently remove the soap from the mold.
The finished soap can then be packaged and stored in a cool, dry environment.
Important Processing Tips
For the best results:
- Avoid boiling the soap base.
- Melt only the quantity you need.
- Use soap-safe colorants.
- Use compatible fragrances and essential oils.
- Avoid adding excessive amounts of water or other liquids.
- Keep all molds clean and dry.
- Test new additives before producing larger batches.
- Wrap finished soaps to help protect them from humidity.
