How to Formulate

Dissolve Alpha Arbutin in a suitable portion of the formula’s water phase. For hot-process emulsions, incorporate during cooling, preferably below 40°C, following the raw material supplier’s instructions.

A final formulation pH of approximately 4.5–6.5 can be used as a development target, subject to the supplied grade’s technical specifications. Confirm pH, stability and compatibility in the finished formula.

For EU-market products:

• Face creams: Maximum 2%.
• Body lotions: Maximum 0.5%.

These limits should not be applied automatically to other product categories. Hydroquinone impurities must remain as low as possible and must not exceed unavoidable trace levels.
